Section 5: The Award Letter

What should you do with the Award Letter?

Compare: Compare the different aid packages and academic programs. Select the college that best meets your family's financial needs and education goals.
Correct: If your financial situation is now different — for instance, you've received additional aid or your family has changed — notify the schools so they can adjust the award package accordingly.
Contact: Once you've selected a school and negotiated the final aid package, notify the other schools so they can offer admission and financial aid to other eligible applicants.

When free aid isn't enough to pay for college, it's time to take advantage of Federal Student Loan Program.
